It is suited for most faces and necks, and is the most commonly available collar. A classic design, a safe choice for anyone. Button-down Collar This collar style can be attributed to Brooks Brothers, and was invented so that the flaps of the collar don’t flap around. This collar has a two buttons or pins that can hold the flaps of the collar down.

The look of this tends to be informal, that’s why it is used more in a business-casual setting.
